In his work, Basim Sajet Ataya used the solar energy collected from the sun and stored using TEG in a gradient salt solar pond to create electricity. He also investigated to see if adding gravel would boost the pond’s capacity to retain heat. In order to concentrate the strength of solar radiation on the pond’s surface, reflective mirrors with a 3 cm thickness have also been placed.
According to theoretical findings (using MATLAB version 2014), adding salt enhances heat storage in the pond’s bottom layer, and the amount of solar radiation reflected by mirrors increases the amount of heat energy absorbed via the pond’s layers. This reduces the loss of thermal energy from the pond by placing a plastic or glass cover on the water’s surface.
